Lokademy was founded by Guyanese husband-and-wife team Lokaya and Curtly Critchlow to solve a critical challenge: making world-class, engaging CSEC & CAPE exam preparation accessible to every student in the Caribbean.
By fusing Lokaya's 11+ years of expert educational experience with Curtly's background in technology and AI, Lokademy delivers a unique 'digital ecosystem'. Lokaya Critchlow is a passionate and seasoned educator with over 11 years of experience dedicated to shaping the academic futures of students and teachers across Guyana. As the co-founder and Lead Educator of Lokademy, she is the architect behind the curriculum and the driving force for its educational integrity.
With a deep expertise in instructional design and a keen understanding of the CSEC syllabus, Lokaya specializes in transforming complex scientific concepts into engaging, clear, and memorable lessons. Her mission is to move beyond rote memorization, fostering a genuine love for learning and developing the critical thinking skills students need to succeed in their exams and in life. At Lokademy, she ensures every piece of content is not only accurate and effective but also supportive and empowering for every student.
Curtly Critchlow is a software developer, a 2nd Lieutenant in the Guyana Defence Force Reserve, and the co-founder of Lokademy. He brings a unique fusion of strategic thinking, discipline, and over six years of technical expertise to his mission: building a world-class educational platform that empowers Caribbean students.
Curtly's passion lies in leveraging the power of technology—especially Artificial Intelligence—to create intuitive, reliable, and engaging learning tools. He believes that the right technology can bridge the gap between academic potential and real-world success. At Lokademy, he is the architect behind the innovative features, including the 24/7 AI guide "Kay," ensuring every student has the structured support they need to not only pass their CSEC exams but also to build a strong foundation for a successful adult life.
